- $50 cash or Credit Card for 17 years old and under
There are handouts and the course is all on powerpoint. The course is hands on and I encourage class participation. There will be breaks and there will be a half hour lunch break. At the end of the course there are two short tests that you MUST pass before you can get your certificate. One is a written muliple choice test, the other is a practical (hands-on). At this time I do not have the facility to be able to take the class to actually shoot, but it is not required.
The course is focused on handguns, as it is for the LTC class A permit. The class A permit will allow you to purchase/posses a long gun. I highly recommend having someone with experience show you the safe operation and functions of a long gun before handling one, as there is not enough time in this course to do so.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES, WILL ANY CLASS PARTICIPANT BRING ANY WEAPONS, FIREARMS OR AMMUNITION TO THIS CLASS.
Everything needed will be provided by the instructor. Once you have successfully passed the tests, you will be given your certificate.
Firearms are no joke. I understand that there will be people that have never held or even seen a firearm in their lifetime. This is OK! I can not stress that enough. I want my class relaxed and not nervous. I find this is the best way to absorb and retain the information you will be receiving. This course will not make you a firearms expert. It is intended to give you the basic fundamentals and knowledge of firearms, firearms safety and basic marksmanship fundamentals.
